Revision

Now that I have my first draft done it will be important to revise the draft in order to make it an effective piece that can be presented to the Fargo Theatre. In order to revise my draft I will first present my work to Doc and see what he has to say about it so far. Once I get feedback from him I will make any changes that need to be done in order to make the draft what it is suppose to be. I will then re-read the draft checking it for grammatical errors. After I have done all this I will ask some of my friends to take a look at my draft. I will see if they can read and understand it. I will then ask them if they found any problem areas in the draft. After this step I will fix the errors in the draft again be re-reading it and making changes I see necessary. I will then again have my friends read the draft to see what they think of the final product. I will finally make changes to my draft and submit the final product on the due date. This whole process will allow me to present my best work as my final product.

Project Plan Analytical Report

In preparing for the next step in the Fargo Theatre Market research there are many things that need to be done to create an effective Marketing Analytical Report to lead the Theatre in the best direction. The following is what I believe will be the most effective plan to reach my goals of creating the Analytical Report for the Fargo Theatre’s next step. First it will be very important to develop the report to reach out to the very specific readers of the report. It will be very important to prepare a reader analysis to get a better feel for exactly what the specific groups of readers of this report will be looking for. Once this is developed it will also be very important to create a context analysis identifying what where the readers will read the document, what economic issues will influence the readers, what political forces will be influencing the readers, and how will my ideas and the report affect the rights, values, and well being of others. Knowing that the Fargo Theatre wants more student involvement will be the main problem that will be addressed in the report that I prepare. Based on the suggestions of the winning report I believe there are several things that I can do to make my report convincing and effective. As the winning report addressed advertisement will be a very crucial step in targeting NDSU students. I believe my first step should be finding out from Thundar Radio, Facebook, and The Spectrum how expensive their ads are and how many people actually subscribe to this media. I believe also doing a little research on the effectiveness of these two types of advertisements will also be crucial. With this information I will have a better idea as to what type of advertisement should be used when targeting NDSU students. I then will develop some sort of survey and ask questions about slogans for the Fargo Theatre, and also present the people with the a similar survey like the winning group did but expand more and try to get a better feel for the NDSU student body. I will find out exactly what kind of discounts students would feel the best about using. With this I will have a better idea of which way the NDSU student body should be targeted and get a better feel of how to present the discounts and incentives to NDSU students. After all of this is done I will be able to summarize exactly what NDSU students want and recommend which advertisements are effective among NDSU students based on the cost of them vs. their subscription, as well as which way the Theatre should target students with coupons.

Market Research Ideas of what we are going to do as a group

A) We are going to first survey random friends of ours to get a better idea if the ideas we have are important to the students of NDSU. If this works we will move forward with more research.
B) We are going to ask a few short questions about the Theatre and what is important with the theatre
a. On a scale of one to five how important are the following when selecting a theatre 1 being least important and 5 being very important.
i. How important is the price of the movie when selecting a theatre?
ii. Is location important when selecting a theatre, distance wise?
iii. Is the theatre environment important?
iv. Is the area and surrounding business important?
v. How important is the advertising about the theatre that you see?
vi. How important is the parking at the theatre?
vii. How important is getting your friends involved with a theatre decision if you are interested in a theatre?
b. On a scale of one to five how interested are you in the following when selecting
a theatre 1 being least important and 5 being very important?
i. How interested are you in seeing non mainstream movies/ pop-culture movies?
ii. How interested are you in seeing mainstream movies?
C) If our assumptions are correct we are going to go on and find out more information about the following things
a. First we need to do some research on prices of the various theatres
b. Compile other marketing ideas for the theatre
c. Get a Chart of the distances to other theatres from NDSU
d. Find out what other businesses are downtown that would attract students
e. Find out more about the movie on campus and possibility of moving that downtown
f. Compile a list of ways to target advertising the theatre in and around campus focusing on the Memorial Union as the target point.

As I began to search for a job with my degree in Management Information Systems there are many different career paths that I can choose to follow. I am going to begin my pre professional career this summer with an I/T internship with Cargill based of the Twin Cities. With this internship I will learn much more about the MIS field and have a much better feel as to what kind of path I would like to take in the future. If I were to map out a career path for the next ten years I would first start out my successfully completing my internship this summer with Cargill. I would then try to find another internship the following summer with another corporation or continue my work with Cargill. When I graduate in the fall of 2009 I will hopefully find a full time entry level position with a larger corporation. With this position I would hope to work my way up through the ranks and work in many different positions in the IT field Such a career path in many corporations will look something similar to the career path shown here. This very basic career path is very similar to many larger corporations. I also hope to earn a salary of 45K plus and work my way up as I move through the various levels of the career path. This salary is a very realistic amount as shown here. PayScale.com is a very reputable site for showing various salaries in many different careers across the country. I also feel that my goals can be achieved by working very hard in my career and taking continuing education classes as well as personal experience in my field. There is also proof that the Information field is ever growing and will continue to grow as the current trends show. Today nearly 60 percent of workers are working in the information field as shown here. Information is continuing to be a very important part of every part of the business world and this is only going to drive the need for more people to manage this information. I hope that in ten years I can be continuing to work my way up the ladder in a larger corporation and I hope to work my way up to a management level position. I feel that all of these goals are very well possible with hard work, continuing education, and always keeping goals high.
