As I began to search for a job with my degree in Management Information Systems there are many different career paths that I can choose to follow. I am going to begin my pre professional career this summer with an I/T internship with Cargill based of the Twin Cities. With this internship I will learn much more about the MIS field and have a much better feel as to what kind of path I would like to take in the future. If I were to map out a career path for the next ten years I would first start out my successfully completing my internship this summer with Cargill. I would then try to find another internship the following summer with another corporation or continue my work with Cargill. When I graduate in the fall of 2009 I will hopefully find a full time entry level position with a larger corporation. With this position I would hope to work my way up through the ranks and work in many different positions in the IT field Such a career path in many corporations will look something similar to the career path shown here. This very basic career path is very similar to many larger corporations. I also hope to earn a salary of 45K plus and work my way up as I move through the various levels of the career path. This salary is a very realistic amount as shown here. PayScale.com is a very reputable site for showing various salaries in many different careers across the country. I also feel that my goals can be achieved by working very hard in my career and taking continuing education classes as well as personal experience in my field. There is also proof that the Information field is ever growing and will continue to grow as the current trends show. Today nearly 60 percent of workers are working in the information field as shown here. Information is continuing to be a very important part of every part of the business world and this is only going to drive the need for more people to manage this information. I hope that in ten years I can be continuing to work my way up the ladder in a larger corporation and I hope to work my way up to a management level position. I feel that all of these goals are very well possible with hard work, continuing education, and always keeping goals high.
